The Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) is seeking a recent graduate from a professional architectural degree program for a one year contract position to be located at the OAA Headquarters Building in Toronto at York Mills/Don Mills roads.

In this position you will gain exposure to many facets of architectural practice and will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of OAA members in large and small firms.


Responsibilities

  • Work with and provide support to the OAA Communications staff with respect to updating and maintenance of the content of the Website. 
  • Assist with the development and coordination of content for existing and new components of the OAA Website, including technical resources and information.
  • Provide coordination support between the 14 local Societies and the OAA in relation to public awareness initiatives, society input into Council initiatives, society special projects and local professional issues.  
  • Provide support to specific OAA Committees in relation to the development of and identification of content for the Sustainable Design area of the website and specific administrative support.
  • Report to the Executive Director and will work under the direct supervision of existing OAA staff. 


Qualifications

  • Recent architectural graduate
  • A demonstrated organizational ability
  • Demonstrated computer skills in a word processor, spreadsheet, and graphics program.
  • A good working knowledge of English.
  • Web site development skills are NOT required, though are an asset.

In order to obtain this position; it would be preferred but not required, to have a student that has been part of CASA-ACEA for at least a year and/or a recent graduate looking to get involved in something related to their field, outside of work.

Executive Assistant

Yes we are looking for a Executive Assistant:

The Executive Assistant has the responsibility to keep the records through out the year. From minutes to all meetings, correspondence received from schools, reports done through out the year, and all important external and internal handling of Director, Executive Director, Executive Fundraising Chair, Project Director and CACB Representatives, etc.

Attendance to all meetings is crucial; we have meetings once a month via Skype. Amongst your tasks outlined above, you will have the responsibility of hosting the Skype meetings and the Executive Meetings; held quarterly.

The Executive Assistant should also be an active social networker; since some of their tasks would be to upload information to various social networking engines, such as: twitter
facebook
stumbleupon
linkedin
reddit
digg
and any other social networking engines that you might deem important; for CASA-ACEA, to contribute on.

The Executive Assistant also has the responsibility to collect the agenda from the Executive Director and Director, and distribute the agenda; to all CASA-ACEA school representatives, along with meeting minutes from the previous meeting, one week prior to the announced meeting.
